Cynthia's Wedding (Weekend: Part One)

The weekend started with Cynthia's wedding. It was a pretty good event. It was good to see all the family and what not. It's weird to see one of my best friends married. Cynthia's only a year and a few months older than me, and it kind of makes me sad to know that it probably won't be the same as it has been the last few years. But guess what? That's just how life works, and we can't really stop this train can we?

After the wedding, we went over to TAB's house for pizza and what not, and that was good. I talked to my good friend, Uncle Tim, for a little bit. I asked him if he wanted to join me, my dad, and Brent Nelson whenever we go to the BYU vs. UCLA game in a few weeks. He accepted the invitation, and that got me really excited. It should be a great trip.

The reception was good, and it was great to see some old friends of mine. My one goal for the reception was to make sure Cynthia didn't get angry with me. I remember at Kerstin and Brent's weddings...I remember doing a few things that got them pretty angry with me. Sure, I was a few years younger, but I think I've learned my lesson: Wedding days can be just as stressful for people as they are happy. So..Just don't mess with your siblings TOO much whenever they are having their reception and what not.

After the reception, I went to stay with TAB for the weekend. More on that in the next post.

The Dark Knight (Status Update)

Dear World,

"The Dark Knight" hasn't even been out for a month, and it's already the #3 movie of all time when it comes to box-office gross.

Of course, it'll never sell as many tickets as Titanic, but guess what? To say there's NO WAY it could make more money than Titanic is just stupid. It has another eight or nine weeks to beat that record.

Only time will tell, my friends.

This last weekend was really great. Look forward to a post or two talking about it later.

An' Another Thing

Just got back from running some last-minute errands for Cynthia's wedding.

It's weird to think that one of my best friends is going to be married in about ten hours or so.

Well, off to bed. Waking up at six, and I have a long day ahead of me.

"The Slow Hand Quickens"

The title has nothing to do with what I'm about to write. It's a line from a song; Matthew and I have been saying it a lot the last few days, and it makes me laugh.

The last couple of days have been eventful. To say the least. But it's not anything any of us didn't expect. Cynthia gets married tomorrow, so of course: We have a lot of family in town and what not.

It's been great having Kerstin and her kids around the last few days. It definitely brings back great memories of last summer. (For those of you who don't know: I spent the majority of last summer hanging out with Kerstin, her kids, and Cynthia.) It's a shame Kerstin is only here for about a month, though. But alas! I always did like the moto "Best for last!"

I've seen my Mom a few times as well, and it's always great to have her around, although I am not quite the Mamma's boy I used to be. She (like a lot of other folks) has been busy preparing for the wedding tomorrow. She's staying at my brother's house across town.

In other news: My good friend and cousin TAB came and picked me up from work on Tuesday. He and an old childhood friend of mine (Brian) spent the night at my house Tuesday night, and it was sweet to catch up with both of them. We spent most of our time together at night: We went to the movies, ate at FatBurger (at 2 AM), went swimming right after that, and then we watched our favorite show from our past--Dragon Ball Z. We only got a few hours of sleep because the day care kids woke us up, but we woke up nice and early to take my check to the bank before TAB and Brian went back home. It was definitely a sweet moment, as it reminded me of our childhood days.

The Brotherhood and I woke up nice and early this morning to go and help my Dad set up Cynthia's reception at the Mission Drive building, and that was actually kind of fun. I provided the McDonalds breakfast as usual. Matthew, Luke, Logan, and I were super tired, because we were up until 4 AM or so watching Sailor Moon. Timmy, however, never joins us, as he gets to sleep early for Cross Country. ;)

Well, that is all for now! My Mom just showed up here at my house, and I'd better go talk to her before she vanishes! :)

Coming up next: One big, busy wedding day tomorrow! It'll be great to see all the family and friends at the reception. See y'all tomorrow at 6 PM. :)

Family (Definitely) Matters

The last few days have been full of surprise family-visits.

Friday morning, I woke up to my oldest sister Kerstin. She got here pretty early with all of her kids, and she woke all of us boys up. I got to see my new niece Ellalyn for the first time, and I love that child already. I am looking forward to when she is Torilynn's age. Tori has gotten so big, and it's been fun to see her walk around and play with toys and what not!

Friday night, when I was at work, Luke and Logan appeared out of nowhere. I was thinking, "Weird." I looked around to see who they were with, and alas, it was my Mom! I haven't seen my Mom for a while so it was a good surprise. She ordered some food for the boys, and I took my break and ate with them.

Saturday morning, I woke up to Kerstin and her kids again. I was babysitting Landon and Tori while she went to Cynthia's bridal shower. It was definitely an adventure babysitting both Landon and Tori. (I am used to babysitting only one child, usually Brighton or Landon.) Landon and Tori sure do love to eat! Cynthia's fiance ordered some pizza, and Landon loved that. Tori ate some as well, along with two bannas, some cereal, and lots of juice. We watched The Incredibles and Landon loved it. :)

Not long after Kerstin took her kids away, I got a phone call from my good friend and cousin TAB. He told me he was finally back in town, and he was wondering if he could come over and hang-out for a while. I told him he could because I didn't have work. And so I spent most of my evening catching up with TAB, and that was great.

So alas! The combination of seeing Kerstin, her kids, my Mom, and TAB really made this weekend something special! It definitely put me in a good, good mood. And Sunday is only going to make it even better. :) Boo-yeah.

Next up: Cynthia's wedding on Friday. That'll definitely be a good event, but I have a feeling the next few days are going to be some-what hectic!
