The Prophecy
A group of friends brought together by two great men
Their friendship forever going--or so they thought.
As they grew old together they realized the end-
These two great men would leave the group of friends
Only to lead the group of friends to destruction
They knew it would come, and they wanted to fight
But weak, they were, and it all went down the drain
The group of friends refers to my group of friends over in Vegas, and the two great men are me and TAB. Hahaha.
"Joy Of Service"
It's just crazy to think that I'll only be speaking once or twice more before I give my farewell talk next year. Yikes! 0_0 I am really excited, though.
But alas! If anyone wants to read my talk, just let me know, and I'll e-mail it to you. Even though a lot of what I wrote down, I didn't actually say. And a lot of what I didn't write down, I DID say. What I wrote down on paper is still pretty good, though, so just let me know if you want to read it. ;) (Copying and pasting it onto the blog is just a pain, because you have to go back and edit a bunch of stuff, etc.)
More Emotional Days
Today is my last day with my fine brother, Matthew Brien Nelson. He will be missed by all, and things just aren't going to be as fun around here anymore.
I take the title as "oldest sibling in the household" again, and I hope to continue getting better at that. I'm actually a little bit excited for it this time around, because last time I was the oldest, Luke, Timmy, Logan, and I had some good good times. It's weird to think that I will only be holding the title for about another year before Timmy takes it.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday and Labor Day! :)

My Good Friend Scott
Scott Daniel Oehler, age sixteen, is one of the best high school trumpet players in the state of Nevada. He is a two-time all-state and honor band member, and will most likely make the two bands again this year.
Two of Scott’s weirdest friends are in this room. “My two weirdest friends are Ben Nelson and Tara Richards,” Scott says. “They both always have something crazy and weird to say.” Scott openly admits that he wouldn’t mind being as weird as his two friends.
One of Scott’s dreams for the future is to go to Brigham Young University, and then he wants to become a dentist. When asked who inspired him to want to be a dentist, Scott replied, “My Dad. He became a dentist a few years ago, and I think it would be a sweet job.”
Scott’s all-time favorite food is lasagna and steak. While Scott enjoys eating apples and bananas, he admits that he is not a big fan of vegetables.
For the most part, Scott enjoys being in school; he enjoys talking to friends and learning about cool stuff, but he hates the concept of doing homework. Scott’s favorite day of the school year is the day before Christmas break; he also enjoys three-day weekends.

Senior Year (So Far) + The Rest of This Week
Senior year is coming along fine. I am taking four classes, and it's good to get out nice and early. My classes and teachers are great, and I am happy about that. Seminary is better than ever, and I am really looking forward to learning about the New Testament this year.
I was thinking about it just a few minutes ago, and I realized that this school year is going to fly by. Quick. It's still weird for me to think about how soon I am going to be an adult. I don't really want to grow up, but I've pretty much given in and realized that it's all part of our journey here on Earth. So alas, in other words...I am a bit nervous about growing old, but at the same time I am looking forward to it.
Tonight and last night have been pretty boring/plain for me. I've finished my homework before 6 PM both nights, and then it left me with nothing else to do afterwards. However, I am looking forward to the next for days. Check it out:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday: Stake youth activity in Boulder City. Should be great; I am looking forward to the sand volleyball tournament.
Thursday: Babysitting the Brunson's kids. Those kids are always so great and fun, and I am looking forward to watching them again.
Friday: Our high school football season begins. FINALLY. I am really looking forward to it. We're playing a team from California, and they are really good. We'll most likely lose, but I don't care. Football is football.
Saturday: Even better. BYU's football season starts. BYU is nationally ranked this year, and they are supposed to be one of the best teams in the country. I am excited to see how they will handle all the hype! :) I also have a birthday party to go to on Saturday night, and that should be fun.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Should be an excellent week if all goes well. :)

Senior Pics! :)
Back To School Letter
So I started this tradition a few years ago where I write all my friends right before school starts. I was planning on doing this last night, but my computer crashed, and I spent my night fixing it, rather.
Like my good friend Jared Brummett, I just wanted to wish everyone good luck this year and what not. I know everyone dreads school and what not, but high school can be really great if you let it be great. But I am sure we all know that.
I challenge everyone to make the Gospel a priority in your life. I know from personal experience that it'll make a difference. My freshman and sophomore years were really miserable for me because I didn't exactly participate in seminary the way I should have. My younger friends, don't make the same mistake I did. Don't sleep during seminary, etc.
All my senior friends...Remember two things:
A)Drama is for teen-agers.
B)You aren't a teen-ager anymore.
Maintain a positive attitude, my friends. It's so much easier for Satan to get to us if we are negative. I also know this from personal experience.
My friends, I love you, and I appreciate the great memories you guys have provided with me the last few years. It's been great, and it's really sad to think that this is my last year with everyone before I go on my mission.
I hope everyone has a safe and exciting school year! :)
Your Friend,
BDN

Good News, Bad News
Bad News: I didn't get to work on my Government because I was so busy working on the computer. Guess what, though? I doubt I'll be the only kid that doesn't have their homework done, though, so...I will have friends on my side. Hopefully! :)
Big day tomorrow. Cheers! ;)
Computer Crash (Admitting Defeat)
My computer crashed late last night. And it is beat up pretty good. Hopefully he will be back to full health soon.
I am admitting defeat in The Dark Knight race. Titanic will probably hold its record forever. I am still proud of The Dark Knight and its performance, though. #2!
A Day Filled With Many Emotions
I feel quite excellent tonight. After being bummed out about my sister and her kids leaving, I decided to take a trip to the Seastrand household. It's a good place to go for me when I want to turn some frowns into smiles. Tonight was no exception. I took my Wii over there, and Bryson, other friends, and I had a great time playing it. Angela and I also went and got slurpees, and that was excellent because we made each other laugh as usual.
Well, that is all for now. Tomorrow is the last day off before school starts. So guess what that means? That means I will be writing a new post called "Summer 2008 (In Review)" tomorrow. Everyone should be looking forward to that. ;)

"The Dreaming Tree Is Dying"
I still have a lot too look forward to, though, and I am looking forward to obtaining those dreams that are possible to obtain.
I've spent my day over here in Vegas. I got my license, and so I went and picked up KT's kids and watched them for a few hours. The last few hours, however, I have been spending some time with my good friends Brian and Bryson. And it's been fun. I am blessed with good pals, yes'n'deed.
LeRoi Moore's passing has been on my mind a lot lately, and I know a lot of people think that's weird because he's not someone I personally knew. However, I personally knew his music, and if it weren't for him, I probably would have never appreciated music the way I do now. I remember when I was a kid--always listening to DMB's "Live at Red Rocks." Back then..the first thing that stuck out was the saxophone. Heck, I still love it!

Turd
Wow. My new layout was on the path to becoming the greatest layout ever. But then I forgot to save the file as a .png so now I can't edit it. :(
What of it? This will have to work until I feel like re-doing it. ;)

Busy Week
This week is going to be busy! I'm starting to freak out about all the stuff I gotta do, and my stomach is starting to turn against me. I am feeling kind of sick right now.
I am hoping this week flies by, and I am hoping all goes well. Everyone wish me luck.
Yours Truly,
BDN
Sommat! :/
I really wish that I didn't feel the way I feel right now.
I really wish I could be in two--maybe even three--places at once.
I really wish I could freeze time during the moments where I am most happy.
I really wish I could read people's thoughts. ;)
I really wish I could just skip these next few weeks and just go a month or two into the future.
That is all.
Yours Truly,
BDN

Jobs, Work
There has been a lot on my mind the last couple of days. I am really excited for the next few months, but at the same time I am not. I have a lot I could tell you, but I'll just talk about one thing on my mind--work.
El Pollo Loco knocked me down to only one day a week. I'm pretty sure I won't be working there too much longer. I have a tutoring and babysitting job waiting for me once school starts. I'll make more money doing that than working at El Pollo Loco once a week. I talked to Brent Nelson today, and we decided that we need to finish JoAnn's website sometime soon. That's another thing I'll be able to work on for some extra money, perhaps?
Those three things should provide me with enough money until I find my next job. As soon as I get home from the BYU vs. New Mexico football game...I am on a journey to find a new job. I am looking for a place where I would feel powerful.
Jobs Where BDN would feel powerful: CompUSA, Blockbuster, Office Max, etc.
Jobs Where BDN doesn't feel powerful: Fast Food, Clothing Stores, Firework Stands, etc.
And that is all for now. :)
Yours Truly,
BDN

Date Night (Still With TAB and Friends)
I'm still visiting TAB and friends, but I thought I'd provide a quick update.
Our date went well, and it was a lot of fun. ;) For all your curious people out there...this is what we did:
-Angela and I played Wii while the rest of the group played Rockband. We were waiting for our Pizza-making stations to be ready.
-We went upstairs and prepared some pizza. Angela and I were in charge of putting the spices into the sauce. We had some technical difficulties, but we ended up finishing it alright. ;)
-While we were waiting for the dough to finish, Angela wanted to draw. So TAB pulled out some paper and some crayons, and we drew. It was sweet. Jared provided the "green-jello kool-aid", and that was delicicous.
-We made the actual pizzas. Of course, mine and Angela's was the best. *Likes black olives now* Haha. Chicken Alfrado pizza=the best. (Thank you, Jared Brummet, for providing the chicken and sauce. ;) )
-We had delicious root beer float drinks for dessert.
-We had a few more minutes, so we went back down to the basement and played some more Wii and Rockband.
I could write a bunch more, but I probably shouldn't. I've said enough, I think. *dances twice*

TAB's House, Ten Days
In other news: In about ten days I will be worrying about something called school. You see...I haven't started my summer government homework. I plan on doing that while TAB is in Disneyland next week. But..something tells me I won't have much success. ;) I've always been a procrastinator. I'm thinking it'll go like this: Read the Government book Friday and Saturday. And then on Sunday write the essay. It's due on Monday, the first day o' school.
Well, that's all for now.

Bad News, Good News
-When my Dad and I went to buy UCLA vs. BYU tickets, we only found that they were sold out. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. But yeah--That was definitely something that bummed me out.
-I don't have my work schedule for the next few days...But I kind of need it for me and TAB to make plans for the next few days. Not good.
Good News:
-That BYU vs. UCLA game is on TV, so I can still watch it. My Dad and I also ordered some New Mexico vs. BYU tickets instead. That's October 11, so that should be a great birthday gift! ;) It's BYU's homecoming game, and New Mexico is usually pretty tough; it should be a great game.
-I babysat the Brunsons' kids for the first time in a while this morning, and that was awesome.
Can't Sleep (Short, Random Thoughts)
I have that familiar feeling again. I love it so much, but I really hate it at the same time. Why love something you can't have, ya know? (Don't ask; you'll get nothing out of me. These are my thoughts.)
Random Thought #3:
I was thinking about the younger me, and how immature and fiendish I used to be a few years ago. I really have grown-up a little bit the last few months. Yeah, it's about time, but I wish I could just stop time right now. Today's as good as it's going to get....For now. I do have a lot to look forward to, but it saddens me a little bit to think about that stuff.
Random Thought #4:
With all sad thoughts aside...I am really excited for the next few days. Dad's buying the BYU vs. UCLA tickets tomorrow, and I am excited for that. Depending on whether I work Thursday/Friday...TAB and I have some great activities hidden up our sleeves, and I am excited.

A Trip To My Past (Weekend: Part Two)
Friday night, after the reception and what not, TAB, Brian Walker, Dal McPral, and I decided to just chill in the spa for a while at Brian Walker's house. Our friend Chelsea was with us, and it was pretty fun just sitting in there catching up with each other. After Chelsea left, my pals and I ended up staying up until 5 AM. They just played video games while I talked with them; it really brought back some good memories. We also talked about BYU football quite a bit and what not, and that was pretty good.
Saturday was probably the most boring day of them all. Dal McPral left on a vacation to California, and TAB, Brian, and I were hoping to find something to do, but we never did. We ended up watching the Olympics and football all day, pretty much. We played volleyball at TAB's for a while, and I ended up hitting Brian's volleyball up into a tree. Everyone gave up trying to get it, except for me, Seth Brunner, and Skittles. Brian kind of seemed angry that I lost his ball, and I felt really bad. And so I told Seth Brunner and Skittles that I wasn't going to stop trying until I got the ball down. Seth Brunner came up with a good plan to get it down, and it worked. It only took us about an hour and a half to get it down, but it felt really good to not let my friend down like he thought I was going to. Some' like that.
Sunday was a good day for me. It was good to visit with everyone in TAB's ward. I sat next to my friend Angela during Sunday school, and according to her, I was making her laugh a lot, and the teacher was so confused as to way she was laughing so much (she doesn't usually laugh during class, I am guessing). It was pretty amusing. ;) The best thing about church on Sunday was Priest Quorom. Wow. I think the lessons we have in Priest Quorom are the best--whether I am in my ward or TAB's. It was just a powerful, powerful lesson, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I wanted to walk to the temple Sunday night, just like we always used to, and so we got a bunch of people to go. Some people drove, but TAB, Jared Brummett, Brian Walker, and I walked. It was a good walk. But as soon as we got there, Angela said she had to leave, and I was a bit confused. I then heard that she left because some other kids were singing some songs that weren't exactly Sunday-appropriate, and she asked them to stop but they didn't. That really made me mad, and so I got TAB and we walked back over to his house. We had scripture study at his house, and then we went to visit Bryson's/Angela's family.
We visited the Seastrand's until about 10 PM, and it really brought back some good memories. I used to stay at Bryson's house quite a bit back in Summer 2005, and it was good to be back in that house again; I always feel welcome there. We watched one of the movies Bryson is working on, and it was really sweet; I loved it. Other than that: We pretty much just talked the whole time, catching up with each other and what not.
It was just really great visiting my old childhood friends. :) Here are a bunch of pics. Compliments to my good friend Jared for taking these shots for me. Thank you, my friend, thank you.
Me and my young friends, Joe Brunner and Bekah Pitts.
Me and TAB talking with the Seastrands.
My friend Katie gave me a mango. This is me and my mango.
Me and my good friend Jared Brummett.
Me and Brian Walker before the Temple walk.
Me and my good friend Bryson!
Cynthia's Wedding (Weekend: Part One)
After the wedding, we went over to TAB's house for pizza and what not, and that was good. I talked to my good friend, Uncle Tim, for a little bit. I asked him if he wanted to join me, my dad, and Brent Nelson whenever we go to the BYU vs. UCLA game in a few weeks. He accepted the invitation, and that got me really excited. It should be a great trip.
The reception was good, and it was great to see some old friends of mine. My one goal for the reception was to make sure Cynthia didn't get angry with me. I remember at Kerstin and Brent's weddings...I remember doing a few things that got them pretty angry with me. Sure, I was a few years younger, but I think I've learned my lesson: Wedding days can be just as stressful for people as they are happy. So..Just don't mess with your siblings TOO much whenever they are having their reception and what not.
After the reception, I went to stay with TAB for the weekend. More on that in the next post.
The Dark Knight (Status Update)
"The Dark Knight" hasn't even been out for a month, and it's already the #3 movie of all time when it comes to box-office gross.
Of course, it'll never sell as many tickets as Titanic, but guess what? To say there's NO WAY it could make more money than Titanic is just stupid. It has another eight or nine weeks to beat that record.
Only time will tell, my friends.
This last weekend was really great. Look forward to a post or two talking about it later.
Yours Truly,
BDN

An' Another Thing
It's weird to think that one of my best friends is going to be married in about ten hours or so.
Well, off to bed. Waking up at six, and I have a long day ahead of me.

"The Slow Hand Quickens"
The last couple of days have been eventful. To say the least. But it's not anything any of us didn't expect. Cynthia gets married tomorrow, so of course: We have a lot of family in town and what not.
It's been great having Kerstin and her kids around the last few days. It definitely brings back great memories of last summer. (For those of you who don't know: I spent the majority of last summer hanging out with Kerstin, her kids, and Cynthia.) It's a shame Kerstin is only here for about a month, though. But alas! I always did like the moto "Best for last!"
I've seen my Mom a few times as well, and it's always great to have her around, although I am not quite the Mamma's boy I used to be. She (like a lot of other folks) has been busy preparing for the wedding tomorrow. She's staying at my brother's house across town.
In other news: My good friend and cousin TAB came and picked me up from work on Tuesday. He and an old childhood friend of mine (Brian) spent the night at my house Tuesday night, and it was sweet to catch up with both of them. We spent most of our time together at night: We went to the movies, ate at FatBurger (at 2 AM), went swimming right after that, and then we watched our favorite show from our past--Dragon Ball Z. We only got a few hours of sleep because the day care kids woke us up, but we woke up nice and early to take my check to the bank before TAB and Brian went back home. It was definitely a sweet moment, as it reminded me of our childhood days.
The Brotherhood and I woke up nice and early this morning to go and help my Dad set up Cynthia's reception at the Mission Drive building, and that was actually kind of fun. I provided the McDonalds breakfast as usual. Matthew, Luke, Logan, and I were super tired, because we were up until 4 AM or so watching Sailor Moon. Timmy, however, never joins us, as he gets to sleep early for Cross Country. ;)
Well, that is all for now! My Mom just showed up here at my house, and I'd better go talk to her before she vanishes! :)
Coming up next: One big, busy wedding day tomorrow! It'll be great to see all the family and friends at the reception. See y'all tomorrow at 6 PM. :)

Family (Definitely) Matters
Friday morning, I woke up to my oldest sister Kerstin. She got here pretty early with all of her kids, and she woke all of us boys up. I got to see my new niece Ellalyn for the first time, and I love that child already. I am looking forward to when she is Torilynn's age. Tori has gotten so big, and it's been fun to see her walk around and play with toys and what not!
Friday night, when I was at work, Luke and Logan appeared out of nowhere. I was thinking, "Weird." I looked around to see who they were with, and alas, it was my Mom! I haven't seen my Mom for a while so it was a good surprise. She ordered some food for the boys, and I took my break and ate with them.
Saturday morning, I woke up to Kerstin and her kids again. I was babysitting Landon and Tori while she went to Cynthia's bridal shower. It was definitely an adventure babysitting both Landon and Tori. (I am used to babysitting only one child, usually Brighton or Landon.) Landon and Tori sure do love to eat! Cynthia's fiance ordered some pizza, and Landon loved that. Tori ate some as well, along with two bannas, some cereal, and lots of juice. We watched The Incredibles and Landon loved it. :)
Not long after Kerstin took her kids away, I got a phone call from my good friend and cousin TAB. He told me he was finally back in town, and he was wondering if he could come over and hang-out for a while. I told him he could because I didn't have work. And so I spent most of my evening catching up with TAB, and that was great.
So alas! The combination of seeing Kerstin, her kids, my Mom, and TAB really made this weekend something special! It definitely put me in a good, good mood. And Sunday is only going to make it even better. :) Boo-yeah.
Next up: Cynthia's wedding on Friday. That'll definitely be a good event, but I have a feeling the next few days are going to be some-what hectic!
